Winter Wonderfest at Navy Pier

Bring winter indoors at Navy Pier

What’s 170,000 square feet of winter fun that doesn’t involve standing out in the freezing cold for hours? Winter Wonderfest that’s what! The indoor winter playground, now in its 16th year, has returned to Navy Pier to the delight of all families. Winter Wonderfest offers more than a dozen attractions, everything from the Chicago Blackhawks ice-skating rink and the Ice Peaks Climbing Wall to Snowflake Slide and Arctic Wonder Obstacle Course.

There are plenty of activities to keep the kids busy and entertained for hours — even a chance to get a photo at Santa’s House! The Arctic Express Train Ride travels 300 feet around the holiday village while the Arctic Plunge will have kids laughing as they go gliding down an inflatable slide adorned with polar bears and penguins. Everyone can decorate — and eat! — fresh cookies at the Create a Cookie Cottage or go for a bird’s eye view from the top of the 50-foot-tall indoor Ferris wheel.

Winter Wonderfest runs through January 8 and opens at 10 a.m. daily (closed on Christmas Day) and tickets range from $10 for a mini pass (select rides only) to $99 for a family 6-tix bundle.
