Windy City Smokeout

Get smoked out in the city

Can you think of a better way to spend a weekend than by eating barbecue from some of the country’s top pitmasters while listening to music from some of the most renowned country artists? If this is your idea of heaven, you need to check out Windy City Smokeout. Between July 15 and 17, the Smokeout takes over a swath of land on Grand Avenue near the Chicago River (560 W. Grand) and you’ll find ‘cue from the likes of Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, Memphis Barbecue Co., Smoque BBQ, The Salt Lick, Peg Leg Porker, Lillie’s Q and Myron Mixon, one of the winningest pitmasters ever, who will also lead an on-site barbecue class.

As for the music, check this out: Big & Rich, Old Dominion, Billy Currington, Chase Rice, Jessie James Decker and more will perform all weekend. Plus there will be about 20 local craft breweries pouring suds for you, too. Tickets range from $30 up to $475.
