The Chicago Air and Water show has been taking place for 58 years, which means many, many airplanes have flown over the lakefront over the years. But even before the air show became an official summertime happening, events like the International Aviation Meet took place over Grant Park in the early part of the 20th century. Check out the above gallery from our friends at Calumet412.com that showcases a mix of images throughout the years of planes cavorting over our fair city.
