Tree Studios, named for its creator, Judge Lambert Tree and his wife, Anne, is a true piece of Chicago history. Located in the heart of River North on a half city block (the Medinah Temple, where the Bloomingdales Home Store sits, has the other half), Tree Studios was built in 1894 and served for decades as studios and workshops for artists, writers and actors like Peter Falk, Richard Florsheim and Burgess Meredith. Today, it houses stores, businesses, design firms, the Ivy Room event space, Pops for Champagne and more. Thanks to our friends at Calumet412.com for the “then” photo.
