Love Modern Art? Get to EXPO Chicago

EXPO Chicago returning to Navy Pier

On September 22, the art world’s eyes will be on Navy Pier because EXPO Chicago, the International Exposition of Contemporary & Modern Art, kicks off the fall art season. More than 140 galleries from 22 countries and 53 cities — London, New York Miami, Beijing, Vienna, San Francisco, Dubai, Johannesburg and, of course, right here at home — land in Chicago to showcase their best artists’ works. You’ll see paintings, sculpture and so many beautiful, intriguing and, sometimes, odd, works. But your mind will be expanded as you peruse the art from an array of global creatives.

A number of programs and special events will take place concurrently with EXPO and the city of Chicago will hold the special EXPO Art Week in partnership with Choose Chicago to highlight outstanding art, artists and museums in the city. And if you just can’t get enough during the day, check out Art After Hours, a citywide open gallery night taking place Sept. 23 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Three-day passes for EXPO cost $30 while a one-day pass is $20. Makes sense to get the three-day pass and come and go as you please.
