Join John Pritzker on a Tour of The Chicago Athletic Association


Who better to give a guided tour of Chicago Athletic Association than John Pritzker? As one of the main developers of Chicago Athletic Association (he’s chairman of Commune Hotels + Resorts), Pritzker is also a noted history buff. Fun fact: his mother, Cindy, inspired the name for the rooftop lounge at the property.

Pritzker took Crain’s Chicago Business reporter Shia Kapos on a personal guided tour of Chicago Athletic Association. He talked about the importance of preserving classic buildings like this one, joked that Chicago Cubs owner Tom Ricketts could use the property’s logo without fear of a lawsuit (it’s the same as Chicago Athletic Association, read our post about that here) and said he slept in the hotel the night before it opened May 27th to enjoy the space one last time by himself before it welcomed the public.
