Hyde Park Jazz Fest Gets Swinging

Hyde Park heating up with cool jazz

If you were looking for a reason to check out Hyde Park — other than going to the Museum of Science and Industry or taking a class at the University of Chicago — the Hyde Park Jazz Festival is that reason.

Taking place Sept. 24 and 25, the 10th annual free Hyde Park Jazz Festival sees jazz musicians from all over the world landing on the South Side. Performances take place at a variety of venues on Saturday including two outdoor stages on the Midway Plaisance, the Smart Museum, Hyde Park Bank and the DuSable Museum. On Sunday, jazz lovers can converge at the two outdoor stages on the Midway. While you’re down there, check out delicious restaurants like A10, The Promontory, Yusho, Valois and Rajun Cajun.
