Where and how to celebrate Chinese New Year in Chicago

With one of the most vibrant Chinatown communities in the country you better believe Chinese New Year celebrations will take off this year. Kicking off Feb. 8 and running through Feb. 22, plenty of parades, parties, dinners, fireworks and more will happen all over the city. The Year of the Monkey is upon us and you can celebrate at the Garfield Park Conservatory, Chicago Cultural Center, Chinese Fine Arts Society or with 30,000 people at the city’s annual Chinese Lunar New Year Parade in Chinatown along Wentworth Avenue then up Cermak Road. Check out a full list of festivities.
