Chicago is a culinary capital, but sometimes you just want a hot dog.


There’s no question Chicago has some of the most inventive, creative chefs preparing delicious, mouthwatering cuisine. But sometimes you just want to hang out and get a hot dog, pizza or a taco. Fortunately, there’s no shortage of great options and here is a list of some of our favorites.

Sure you can stop at almost any Vienna Beef-branded stand and get a Chicago dog, but some places are much better than others and sometimes that means you may have to travel. The iconic Chicago dog — all-beef hot dog in a poppy seed bun topped with yellow mustard, electric green sweet relish, dill pickle spear, sport peppers, tomato, onion and celery salt but never ketchup — is a religious experience for some.
