People always say the best way to see Chicago is to get out into the neighborhoods. However, if you’re only here for a few days (that is, if you don’t live here) it’s hard to see everything. Oftentimes, some neighborhoods farther north or south get overlooked for other hip spots like Fulton Market, Logan Square or Wicker Park. If you’ve always heard about Ravenswood, that quaint neighborhood just west of Wrigleyville (OK, maybe not just west, but we figured throwing in a Cubs reference would grab your attention), now you have a chance to taste its best offerings in one spot.
The annual Taste of Ravenswood returns Nov. 18 at the Ravenswood Event Center (4025 N. Ravenswood) and this year includes food and drinks from a newly minted one-star Michelin culinary brewpub, Band of Bohemia. Ravenswood is home to a number of breweries and distilleries and your $70 ticket (or $100 VIP) includes 20 tasting pours from the likes of Begyle Brewing, Dovetail Brewing, Koval Distillery and The Northman, Chicago’s first-ever cider-focused bar. And you can enjoy unlimited food from places including Ampersand Wine Bar, Mixteco Grill, Spacca Napoli, Bang Bang Pie & Biscuits and Mad Love.
So if you’re looking to indulge in dishes like lamb bacon and hummus on chicharones; applewood smoked pork belly and rib eye chili; slow-roasted pork tacos and sip a variety of beers and cocktails, you’ll want to snag tickets before they’re gone.
