Four great food fests to check out in October

Sometimes we eat out of necessity. Sometimes we eat because there’s a hot new restaurant we want to check out or we have a special occasion to celebrate. Other times, we eat because it helps others. This month, there are a few events that will help you tackle the latter. If you want to help combat child hunger, teach kids the merits of eating locally and healthfully or raise money to support people living with HIV/AIDS in Chicago, four special events bring together some of the city’s top chefs and bartenders to help fundraise to keep these special organizations afloat. So if you have some extra money in those deep pockets of yours, think about shelling some out to help one of these wonderful causes.
