FEBRUARY 2018 – Don’t let winter keep you from all the great things to do in Chicago this February. Whether you’re looking for things to do downtown or just take in a variety of Chicago events, there’s so much happening, especially for a short month. Ready to dive into some of them?

Chicago Whiskey Festival
What:
Sample through more than 30 whiskies, bourbons and Scotch from all over the world, including a bunch of local spirits like Koval, Blaum Bros., Journeyman and Few Spirits. Then plan on eating at one of the many nearby River North restaurants.

Room 237: The Shining Pop-up
What:
Get ready for a little redrum and to channel your inner Jack because the Shining is live in Chicago at this scary interactive pop-up event.

Chicago Theater Week
What:
Chicago is a world-class theater city with everything from big Broadway productions to storefront theater with emerging shows. Take the chance to see your share of theater with more than 120 productions from which to choose during this 10 day period.

The Humans
What:
The Tony-winning production about an Irish family gathering for Thanksgiving at the duplex apartment — a great find in Manhattan despite the noise, failing lights and sporadic giant cockroach and being in post-9/11 Chinatown in a flood zone — of their daughter and her boyfriend. The somewhat somber and occasionally funny 90-minute show shows a family, which includes a grandmother with dementia, a daughter with ulcerative colitis and over-protective parents with their own issues, being held together by their love for each other.

The Naked at the Art Museum Scavenger Hunt
What:
For art lovers and not necessarily the faint of heart, this pre-Valentine’s Day hunt will have you darting around the museum on a sultry search for nudes of all kinds.

Chicago Black Restaurant Week
What:
Explore, celebrate and enjoy fare at a variety of African-American-owned restaurants around Chicago, including Peach’s, Thom’s Turkey & BBQ, Mikkey’s Retro Grill and Luella’s Southern Kitchen.

Cider Summit
What:
Discover why people are freaking out over cider. No, not the sugary sweet stuff, but the delicious drink produced by fermenting apple (and sometimes pear) juice. You’ll get to taste more than 150 domestic and international ciders at this walk-around event.

Lunar New Year Parade
What:
Celebrate the Year of the Dog at this annual Chinese New Year extravaganza
