Feast of the Seven Fishes

Celebrate Italian Christmas

No matter how you celebrate this holiday season, everyone can truly enjoy an Italian Christmas. The Feast of the Seven Fishes is a traditional multi-course Italian meal featuring seven varieties of seafood — and a number of wonderful restaurants are holding their own. If you love Italian cooking and seafood and want to feel like your nonna is making you the best meal of your life, hit one of these spots.

Café Spiaggia: On December 20th, enjoy a six-course luxe meal of various seafood including octopus, sepia, scallops and more. Tickets are $75 a person with an optional $25 wine pairing, exclusive of tax and tip.

Osteria via Stato: Spend Christmas Eve on State Street with a decadent three-course meal with antipasti like calamari and shrimp salad and baccala spread on crostini and main course options including lobster and shrimp risotto or seafood linguine. Cost is $56.95 a person plus tax and tip.

Tesori: Set inside the building for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Tesori is offering a full week of seafood delights. Between December 17th and December 23th, guests can enjoy everything from crudo and creamed salt cod to fish stew and pizza with clams.
