Band of Bohemia’s Caravan Art Festival

Band of Bohemia brings hosts a carnival-like beer fest

To mark the end of summer and celebrate Oktoberfest, North Side culinary brewer Band of Bohemia will host its first-ever Caravan Art Festival. On Sept. 18 between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., the Ravenswood restaurant located across from the revamped Metra station will set up a variety of tents in its private parking lot to create a beer-meets-carnival soiree. They’ll have a growler ring toss, a wandering magician and an array of carnival games.

Band of Bohemia’s beers will all be on tap and they’ll welcome a special beer produced in collaboration with Half Acre: a Thai-basil and lemongrass saison named Sunday in Saigon. Dark Matter coffee will have plenty of their caffeinated drinks to keep you moving if you need a little energy while you dance to the gypsy-jazz sounds of Alfonso Ponticelli & Swing Gitan and also the Gipsy Stringz Quartet. The Caravan rolls into town at 11 a.m. and the party will run until 7 p.m. A $5 entrance fee gets you through the gates and food and drinks will cost extra, but if you’ve ever been to Band of Bohemia, you know it’s worth it.
