On May 13, one of the most eclectic gatherings in the city returns: Activate. The monthly events, put on by the Chicago Loop Alliance, transform otherwise dark and dank alleys into thoroughfares filled with art, music and revelry. This first one takes over the 8th Street Alley (205 E. 8th between State and Wabash) between 5 and 10 p.m. The theme for this Activate is touch and will include an adult ball pit with 100 4×8-foot inflatables to poke and play with; a brail art installation by Stuart Hall; free massages from Bliss Spa; a live performance by artist Claire Ashley and a DJ. Oh, and if you like hugs, professional cuddlists will be on hand to, well, cuddle with you. Register to get a free drink ticket for a beer or wine.
